As a sufferer of chapped and dry lips, I have been lusting away for months for Lush lip scrubs. The reason I have been lusting rather than purchasing is simply due to the £5.25 price tag that is attached to the product. You might say that the more you pay, the better the product and the better the product, the more likely it is to work. Well if you say this then I can only tell you to look at the ingredients. You are paying a hefty £5.25 for sugar, oil, colouring and flavouring.
This sprung an idea. A DIY idea.
I mixed 1 tablespoon of caster sugar, with a drop of honey, some vanilla essence and half a teaspoon of oil.
This produces a paste that looks very suspiciously like a Lush lip scrub.
The next step was to put my product to the test.
A few scrubs and a few licks later, my lips were smooth with not a dead cell in sight.
Even better – a few hours later, my lips are still going strong.
Use an old lip balm container to keep this product at the ready when you are on the go.
This is the perfect product for sufferers of dry lips or simply for before lipstick application to give smooth overall coverage.
Save your pennies girls. When a product is this cheap and simple to create on your own, I can save towards more important things…like the MAC and Rihanna collaboration.
